Course fees 2027

It is important to us that our retreats are open to as many people as possible, regardless of their financial situation. For courses taking place in 2027, you can choose between three price categories when you register. This way, you can choose the amount that feels right and affordable for you. At the same time, we are being transparent about what it actually costs to run a retreat here.

Below, we describe the three price categories more in detail. All three categories entitle you to a full participation. The amounts stated are per person per night and cover, depending on the category, all or part of accommodation, meals and the centre’s general operating costs.
A fee for the teachers is not included (please check the “Donations to the Teachers (Dana)” paragraph below).

Basic rate
CHF 92.00 / EUR 96.60

This amount is almost equivalent to our previous course fee, adjusted to include VAT, and does not cover our actual costs.

We deliberately continue to offer this rate so that our retreats remain accessible and affordable for as many people as possible.

Sustaining rate
CHF 120.50 / EUR 126.50

This amount covers the actual costs of a retreat: accommodation, meals, salaries of the house team, regular building maintenance and course administration.
By choosing this rate, you help us offer our retreats on a sustainable basis.

Benefactor rate
CHF 120.50 / EUR 126.50
+ voluntary donation of CHF 19.50 / EUR 20.50

With this price category, you choose the cost-covering rate (CHF 120.50 / EUR 126.50) and at the same time support our solidarity fund with a donation. When registering, you can accept the suggested donation amount or adjust it. The donation is voluntary and will be listed separately from the course price on the invoice. Your contribution helps sustain the work of our centre and enables us to continue offering the basic rate and, in certain cases, to grant additional reductions. On request, we will gladly issue a donation receipt.

For all three categories, the total amount on your invoice consists of the price per night multiplied by the number of nights of the retreat, the local tourist tax per night, and a one-time flat fee for bed linen. All course fees include statutory VAT.

Donations to the Teachers (Dana)

The teachers do not receive a fixed fee, so their remuneration is not included in the course price. Instead, they offer their teaching on the basis of donations (Dana) from participants. This reflects the traditional Buddhist principle that the teachings cannot be measured in material terms and should remain accessible to everyone who is interested. However, teachers rely on your donations to support their livelihood and enable them to continue teaching. At the end of the retreat, you can make a donation directly to the teachers.

Reductions

  • Pupils, trainees and students can receive a 20% reduction on the basic rate upon request. If you would like to make use of this, please mention it when registering and subsequently send us a proof of enrolment by email.
  • If financial circumstances would otherwise prevent you from attending a retreat, please do not hesitate to ask us. We will try to find a suitable solution together and might grant a reduction of the course price in various cases.

Which Rate should I choose?

In the spirit of mutual support, we are grateful when you choose the highest amount that feels affordable and manageable for you at this time.

In this way, people with different financial means contribute together to ensuring that our retreats can remain accessible to as many people as possible over the long term.

What Is the Solidarity Fund?

The Solidarity Fund helps us continue offering retreats at the Basic Rate and, in certain cases, provide additional reductions to people who would otherwise be unable to attend. The foundation allocates the available funds according to need and within the scope of its charitable purpose.
